Petite Tui Necklace, Sterling Silver

Description

A handsome petite Tui necklace cleverly cast in sterling silver from an original Tania Mallow carving, finished with a sterling silver chain and clasp.

The striking Tui bird is one of our most loved native New Zealand birds. Its reputation for filling the skies with incredible multidimensional bird song is well known across the country. The Tui has thrived where many native birds have not. They populate many city fringes and are beautiful to behold in singing flocks.

Tania Mallows Tui is one of the most elegant if not regal versions there is. He is often described as handsome in his profile form and close association to John Keulemans Tui bird in the publication Buller's birds.

Did you know you are helping our native New Zealand birds? For each Tania Mallow bird necklace sold a $1 donation is made to BirdCare Aotearoa.

The bird range has a beautifully weighty feel. Like many of Tania Mallow's other pieces they are created with comfort and quality at the forefront. Materials are not spared on her necklaces and wearing them feels amazing. This necklace is enhanced by a skillful oxidization technique which brings the carved lines to life.

Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% pure silver. The alloy composition results in a metal that is very durable and long lasting. Sterling silver is easily polished using a polishing cloth. Tania Mallow jewellery is certified sterling silver.
