Delicately crafted, these petite Monarch Butterfly earrings are cast from meticulously hand-pierced silver and finished with sterling silver links and hooks.
Although Monarch butterflies are found worldwide, they established themselves in New Zealand naturally, making them a special part of our native wildlife. In Māori culture, Monarchs are known as wairua atua—supernatural spirits—symbolizing transformation, hope, and rebirth.
Tania’s tribute to the Monarch is both powerful and intricate, showcasing her exceptional creative and technical skill. The finely detailed wings are hand-pierced and cut from silver, while subtle links between the butterfly and the hook allow for graceful movement, bringing these exquisite earrings to life.
Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% pure silver. The alloy composition results in a metal that is very durable and long lasting. Sterling silver is easily polished using a polishing cloth. Tania Mallow jewellery is certified sterling silver.
