1. The Initial Spark: Consultation & Ideas

Our journey begins with a conversation. We'll discuss your inspirations – perhaps it's a love for Aotearoa's native flora and fauna, a significant life event, a cherished family heirloom you wish to reimagine, or a particular style you adore. Bring your sketches, photos, or simply your thoughts. We can meet in person at my Beachlands studio, or connect via video call or email.

Key discussion points: Design ideas, materials (e.g., sterling silver, gold, specific gemstones), budget considerations, and desired timeframe.

2. Bringing Vision to Life: Design & Quotation

Based on our consultation, I will develop design concepts. This may include hand sketches or digital mock-ups to help you visualise the piece. We'll refine these designs together until they perfectly capture your vision. Once the design is finalised, I'll provide you with a detailed quotation and an estimated timeline for completion.

Once you're happy with the design and quote, a deposit will secure your commission and I'll move forward to the creation phase.

3. The Art of Creation: Crafting Your Piece

This is where the magic happens! With the design approved, I will begin meticulously handcrafting your jewellery in my studio. I draw endless inspiration from the beauty of our natural landscapes and the refined simplicity of classic contemporary aesthetics. I may share progress updates with you, allowing you to witness your unique piece taking shape.

My techniques often involve traditional metalsmithing, wax-carving, and sometimes the unique process of imprinting natural elements like skeleton leaves directly into the metal. Each piece is crafted with dedicated attention to detail and the highest quality.

4. The Unveiling: Final Approval & Delivery

Once your piece is complete, I will share final images for your approval. Your beautifully finished, custom-made jewellery will then be carefully packaged, ready for you to collect or for secure delivery. It's always a joy for me to see a design journey from an idea sketched on paper to a cherished, tangible treasure that will be loved for years to come.

The remaining balance will be due upon completion and before collection or shipping.
