A delicate gold-plated Kōtare necklace cast in sterling silver from an original Tania Mallow carving, finished with a fine gold-plated sterling silver chain and clasp.
The Kōtare, or New Zealand Kingfisher, is a striking little bird often seen perched quietly along coastlines and rivers, watching the water below. With its vivid blue-green feathers and calm presence, the Kōtare is said to symbolise peace, prosperity, and balance — a true taonga of Aotearoa.
Like all pieces in Tania’s bird range, this necklace captures the beauty and spirit of New Zealand’s native wildlife. Each pendant is lovingly handmade in her Beachlands studio, created to feel comfortable, enduring, and full of character. The petite Kōtare has a lovely solid feel for its size and sits beautifully when worn — a perfect piece to treasure every day.
Tania Mallow proudly supports BirdCare Aotearoa with a monthly donation, helping to protect and care for our precious native birds.
