A creative Koru ring, cast in sterling silver featuring interlocking spirals.
The Koru is at the foundation of all traditional Maori carving and art here in Aotearoa. It is a cleverly stylised representation of the unfurling fern frond which represents new life, strength and growth. Tania’s relationship with native New Zealand bush is encapsulated in her Koru range. The fern frond peppers our native bush with its soft curls and spirals. To walk in Aotearoa’s native bush is to know the fern frond inside out.
Tania has paid tribute to the original style of the Koru by celebrating its simplicity. In this piece she brings all the attention to that symbolic spiral flowing with movement. She cleverly creates an interlocking pattern in the highly polished surface of the Koru. The play of light between the indent and the surface shimmer beautifully.
Rings are ideal for stacking and everyday wear. Tania’s rings like all of her pieces are created to give the wearer a sense of comfort and quality. Her rings are therefore much more substantial than many other hand made comparisons. She goes the extra mile to shape the interior of each ring with a slight curve and soft edge for maximum comfort.
Rings often signify love, commitment and even creativity. They make a very special gift for someone else or yourself.
Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% pure silver. The alloy composition results in a metal that is very durable and long lasting. Sterling silver is easily polished using a polishing cloth. Tania Mallow jewellery is certified sterling silver.
