Delicate, graceful and beautifully detailed, the Petite Monarch Butterfly Necklace is a celebration of one of New Zealand’s most cherished butterflies.
This new design features the sterling silver chain attached delicately to either side of the butterfly’s wings, allowing it to sit gracefully against the collarbone. The butterfly has its wings open, creating the impression that it is taking a rest from flight.
Although Monarch butterflies are found throughout the world, they have naturally established themselves in New Zealand and have become a much-loved part of our native wildlife. In Māori culture, Monarch butterflies are known as wairua atua—supernatural spirits—symbolising transformation, hope and rebirth.
Each butterfly is meticulously hand-pierced in silver before being cast and finished by Tania, capturing the fine detail and delicate structure of the wings. The pendant is paired with a 40cm sterling silver chain and clasp, making it a beautifully understated piece for everyday wear.

About Sterling Silver
Sterling silver is an alloy containing 92.5% pure silver, making it durable and long-lasting while retaining the beauty of silver. It can be easily polished with a silver polishing cloth to restore its shine.
When your pieces are not being shown off, it is best to keep them in a dry, soft case. This will protect them and increase the longevity so you can continue to wear them for years to come.
Regularly cleaning your pieces will decrease the natural film that builds up over time. Contact us for more info.
